History

Red Crown owes its namesake to the old Standard Oil Red Crown Service Station built in 1932 (cool fact for all you history buffs: The Standard Oil Company was founded by the infamous John D. Rockefeller).

The Standard Oil Station was a fixture in the Pointes until 2005 when it shut its doors for good. In 2012, the Cotton family, led by Dr. David Cotton and his wife Shery, decided to buy the abandoned building in an effort to breathe some life back into downtown Grosse Pointe Park.

Red Crown opened its doors in 2013, seeking to preserve the former building's old school charm while giving the interior a modern update. The d├ęcor is simple: bright white brick with red accents and soft lighting for a comfortable, relaxed dining experience.

Today, we celebrate our past and attribute our current and future success to our amazing customers. We promise you this: eating at Red Crown is about treating your taste buds to something new and different, and more importantly, making memories with friends and family.

We sincerely thank you for the opportunity to be a part of those memories.
